The Quinta do Crasto Vintage Port 2019 is a wine of exceptional quality, impressively reflecting the long tradition of this renowned Douro Valley estate. The grapes come from vines over 60 years old, growing on schist terraces at altitudes of up to 450 meters. The climatic conditions of 2019 ensured slow and very balanced ripening, resulting in exceptional concentration and freshness. After harvesting, the grapes are carefully processed and foot-trodden in the traditional lagar (a type of traditional Portuguese trough) before aging for two years in large Portuguese oak barrels. In the glass, the port displays a deep ruby red color. The nose offers intense aromas of dark berries, underpinned by subtle spice and floral notes. On the palate, it is powerful, dense, and complex, with flavors of ripe wild berries, fine tannins, and an elegant structure. The finish is long, balanced, and shows great aging potential. This vintage port combines expressiveness with finesse and is an impressive example of the high art of Portuguese port wine production.
