The Quinta do Crasto Vintage Port 2021 is a port wine of exceptional elegance and freshness, impressively continuing the long tradition of this renowned Douro Valley estate. The 2021 vintage was characterized by variable weather conditions, but meticulous work in the vineyard yielded grapes of the highest quality. The vines are over 60 years old and grow on the characteristic schist terraces at altitudes of 120 to 450 meters. After selective harvesting, the grapes are foot-trodden in the traditional lagar and then fortified with grape spirit to stop fermentation. The wine then matures for two years in large oak casks. In the glass, it displays a deep, dark, almost opaque color. The nose offers fresh aromas of rockrose, blackberries, and subtle hints of cocoa. On the palate, it impresses with a robust structure, dense texture, and elegant tannins that provide backbone and depth. The finish is long, intense, and complex, with great aging potential. A vintage port that combines the power of the Douro with elegance and finesse.
