Master Blender Matt Witzig of Phenomenal Spirits, based in Virginia Beach, USA, created this phenomenal whiskey. The name Ry3 already hints at the important role the number 3 plays in this ultra-premium whiskey. Each bottle combines three different whiskeys, each made from three unique mash bills whose history dates back to the late 1700s. The Ry3 Blended Rye Whiskey Rum Cask Finish is a blend of a 14-year-old rye whiskey matured in an ex-bourbon barrel, a 4-year-old Alberta rye whiskey, and a 3-year-old rye whiskey matured in a new American oak barrel. The blend was then finished for a period of time in an ex-rum barrel for its refined finish. The result of this meticulous blend is a balanced and silky-smooth rye whiskey that offers the nose delightful notes of rye spice, white pepper, orange peel, peach, vanilla, and cigar leaf, while the palate is treated to a honeycomb-like mouthful of peach nectar and maple bran.
