In 1982, Master Distiller Jörg Rupf founded St. George Spirits, a company based in California. The distillery is currently run by Master Distiller Lance Winters and Head Distiller Dave Smith, who has since been inducted into the Spirit Journal Hall of Fame. Dave Smith fell in love with New Orleans during a visit and met his future wife there. This inspired him to create a liqueur as a tribute to New Orleans-style coffee. The perfect ingredients for Nola Coffee Liqueur were sought after: Ethiopian coffee beans, French chicory root, Madagascan vanilla, and organic cane sugar. The coffee was roasted by the local experts at Jewel Box Coffee Roasters. St. George Spirits' cold infusion method then carefully concentrates the elegant flavors and aromas of the coffee while minimizing the extraction of astringent components. Nola Coffee Liqueur is fruity, spicy, and delicious. A rich coffee aroma with notes of hazelnut, black pepper, dark chocolate, red wine, tobacco, dates and plums delights the nose and palate.
