Vedrenne Eau de Vie Vieille Prune is an exquisite French plum brandy distilled from fully ripened plums. The mash, made from whole fruit including the pits, is traditionally fermented in copper pot stills and then aged for several years in small oak barrels – resulting in a premium brandy with depth, character, and natural elegance. On the nose, it unfolds a seductive bouquet of juicy plums, roasted almonds, vanilla, dried fruit, and delicate wood notes. On the palate, the Vieille Prune is powerful, rounded, and harmonious – with a successful balance of fruit sweetness, subtle spice, delicate roasted aromas, and an elegant touch of oak. The finish is long, warm, and complex with hints of stone fruit, caramel, marzipan, and a touch of baked apple. Served at 14-16°C, it is an ideal digestif after a fine meal, but also makes a sophisticated ingredient in sauces, desserts, or upscale cocktails.
