William Hinton founded a sugar factory with an attached distillery on the small Atlantic island of Madeira in 1845. The island boasts excellent soil conditions and ideal climatic conditions for growing sugarcane. Thanks to advanced technology, the distillery quickly became one of the largest on Madeira. Unfortunately, operations had to cease in 1986. In 2006, the heirs revived the old tradition and have since been producing exceptional rums, each undergoing an exquisite finishing process in different casks. William Hinton Rum Limited Edition 6YO Aged in Whisky Cask is a distilled rum that matured for six years in French oak barrels before being blended with a 25-year-old rum from old stocks for a further three years of aging. Its final maturation and refined finish were achieved in a former whisky cask. This exquisite rum has a good texture and reveals a balanced flavor profile of fruity, floral, and delicate wood notes, complemented by hints of peach, lavender, and licorice. Its pleasant finish is long and dry. A rum to fall in love with!
