It all began in 1920 when Guido Williams set aside a portion of the year's must to celebrate the birth of a new family member. This tradition has been preserved by Williams & Humbert for generations, and to this day, a portion of each harvest is reserved for the family collection. For this Williams Colección Añadas Amontillado En Rama 2011 Crujía, only must from the first pressing of the 2011 harvest was used. After filtering off the lees, the sherry underwent a long static maturation period in 600-liter American oak casks, where it developed naturally over many years, gradually acquiring the typical characteristics of an Amontillado. For this bottling, a specific selection was made from casks number 1 and 2. The result is an exceptionally fine and expressive vintage sherry that impressively reflects the combination of biological and oxidative maturation. In the glass, it displays a warm amber color. On the nose, it reveals complex and intense aromas, while on the palate it presents itself as dry, mineral, and slightly salty, accompanied by subtle nutty notes. The finish is very long, elegant, and lingering, underscoring the sophisticated character of this special bottling.
