Despite its name, Gewürztraminer likely did not originate in the South Tyrolean lowlands; its origins remain shrouded in mystery – possibly in Egypt. For centuries, this exceptionally full-bodied, aromatic white wine has been cultivated in the Tramin region, producing grapes of excellent quality. However, it is one of those grape varieties that people either love or hate. As a distillate, though, this nuanced, spicy grape variety boasts a rich, multi-layered bouquet. Zu Plun's Gewürztraminer Grappa is distilled from the pomace of various winegrowers in the South Tyrolean lowlands. It is colorless and clear. On the nose, one perceives an elegant, complex, and exceptionally multi-layered bouquet with pronounced floral notes. On the palate, it is full-bodied and smooth with a fruity spiciness. Its finish is soft and typical.
