For the plum brandy from the Zu Plun distillery, only plums typical of South Tyrolean mountain farms are used, grown directly at the Plunhof farm at almost 1100 meters above sea level. In this climate, characterized by strong temperature fluctuations, small, compact fruits ripen, exhibiting a more concentrated aroma than typical cultivated plums. To allow this aroma to fully develop, the tree-ripened fruits are carefully pitted before processing. The hand-picked and prepared fruit is then gently mashed. After natural fermentation without additives is complete, the mash is distilled twice. The plum brandy is colorless and crystal clear. On the nose, it reveals a fruity body with aromas of cinnamon and caramel. On the palate, it offers a clean and smooth style with a delicate almond note. Pair this delicious plum brandy with dark chocolate.
