No other fruit is distilled as frequently in our region as the Williams Christ pear. It is undoubtedly the queen of pome fruits. Zu Plun sources the fruit for its Williams brandy from the Burggrafenamt and the lower Vinschgau valley near Naturns. At harvest time, the pears must be significantly riper than those intended for eating. Only then do they deliver the concentrated aroma captured in this brandy. Harvested fresh and bright yellow, these pears are immediately destemmed by hand to eliminate any unwanted bitter notes and then mashed. Williams Christ pear brandy is colorless and clear. Fruity aromas of fully ripened Williams pears delight the nose. On the palate, it is characterized by transparent, pure fruit notes of characterful depth, soft and structured. The most elegant of all pome fruit brandies shines in the finish with an impressive, lingering length and a distinctive, robust, and slightly angular touch.
