Gold of Mauritius is a rum creation from the paradisiacal island of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean. This rum is a blend of various single distillates, traditionally distilled from sugarcane molasses. A mixture of the finest Mauritian aromas is sure to delight. The blend is aged for 6-8 months in ex-sweet wine casks to achieve its unique and incomparable style. Bottling is personally overseen by Frederic Bestel, the brand's owner. Frederic, a Mauritian entrepreneur with many years of experience in the spirits industry, produced the rum in 2014 at a local distillery. This dark rum offers the nose a complex array of aromas with notes of oak, malt, and roasted nuts, underscored by hints of fine chocolate and tropical fruits. A harmonious balance of vanilla and delicate spices on the palate, with a very long and pleasant finish, reflects the spirit of Mauritius. A true composition that lives up to the name "Gold of Mauritius."
