Opyos drew inspiration from the Italian tradition of Turin for the production of its Vermouth Rouge de Luxembourg. The vermouth is a blend of white and red wine, flavored with a variety of herbs, roots, flowers, and fruits. Careful planning and a precisely timed production process are of paramount importance. The process begins with the selection of the appropriate white and red wines, followed by a precise selection of the herbs, roots, flowers, and fruits that contribute to the vermouth's aromatic character. These ingredients are then macerated with alcohol and water in separate vessels for varying periods and at different alcohol concentrations. During the extraction process, the alcohol-water solutions absorb the aromas, essences, essential oils, and colorings of the ingredients. Subsequently, all the individual components are blended to create a harmonious vermouth, to which sugar is added. The result is a ruby-red vermouth that impresses with a balanced blend of bitter, sweet, and fruity notes.
