The Albert Michler Distillery has bottled this robust and characterful rum blend – a traditional blend made from high-quality molasses rums on the Caribbean island of Barbados. The Albert Michler Distillery traces its roots back to the Austrian Albert Michler Liqueur, Rum, and Spirits Factory, founded in Buchsdorf in 1863. Austrian Empire Navy Rum Reserve 1863 is a tribute to this era. This fine Barbados rum was aged and matured for an extended period in specially selected American and French oak barrels, which imparted a wonderful oaky spiciness to the distillate and gave it its beautiful mahogany color. A rum full of power, character, and complexity, yet pleasantly harmonious and smooth. It offers a bouquet of intense aromas of molasses, vanilla, caramel, honey, and toffee, transitioning into slightly more bitter notes of dark chocolate, coffee, and tobacco. Light and sweet on the palate. Its finish is long-lasting, velvety and soft with a hint of spice and fruit.
