With 35% triple-distilled peated malt at its heart, The Midnight Silkie is a rich, complex, and smoky blended Irish whiskey that completes the core range of Silkie Irish Whiskeys. A total of five triple-distilled single malts, matured in various sherry, bourbon, oloroso, red wine, virgin oak, and imperial stout casks, have been perfectly blended to create a whiskey that marks the final step in the smoky journey of Silkie bottlings. Non-chill filtered, it reveals its true, rich character. In a beautiful golden yellow color, it offers the nose sumptuous muscovado sweetness, pipe smoke, Christmas spice, sandalwood, orange peel, baked apples, chocolate orange, sweet tobacco, and flaxseed. Earthy and rounded. Similar perceptions on the palate; Initially sweet and warm with notes of dry peat smoke, followed by notes of toffee apples, oak, tobacco, and leather. A certain freshness also emerges, with an invigorating hint of pine, blood orange, and sweet grapefruit. On the finish, the sweet notes fade, leaving behind a comforting warmth of dried fruit and peat.
