This attractive 3-bottle set includes The Legendary Silkie Blended Irish Whiskey Non-Chill Filtered, a smooth whiskey with a rich character, fresh and malty on the nose, with aromas of green apples and a light, honeyed, buttery flavor. Very smooth on the palate with notes of sweet gingerbread, a hint of orange zest, brioche, and butterscotch. The second whiskey in the set, The Legendary Silkie Dark Blended Irish Whiskey Non-Chill Filtered, uses Irish peat, which is sweeter and less oaky than Scottish peat. The nose detects aromas of fresh apples and pears with spicy, dry smoky notes. On the palate, notes of sweet pipe tobacco, licorice, and dark chocolate are followed by warm toffee and pear flavors. The third in the group: The Legendary Silkie Midnight Blended Irish Whiskey Non-Chill Filtered offers the nose lush muscovado sweetness, pipe smoke, Christmas spice, sandalwood, orange peel, baked apples, chocolate orange, sweet tobacco, and flaxseed. Beautifully earthy and well-rounded. On the palate, initially sweet and warm with notes of dry peat smoke, followed by notes of toffee apples, oak, tobacco, and leather. A certain freshness also emerges.
